A Trip to Russia - Around St. Petersburg by Bus & Foot - Spring

With the fall of Communism the name of Leningrad was changed back to St. Petersburg and the city regained its soul. For better or worse the city justifiably belongs to Peter the Great. Fortunately the ancient center of the city has been little changed by Communism or anything else. Focused on the Neva River with canals radiating into the city it remains Peter's City. We birthed near this impressive modern bridge upstream from the center and each day traveled into the city by bus. We found the people to be very proud of their venerable city and eager to share it's history with us.
