Capitol Reef National Park - Fruita

Fruita was first settled by Mormon Pioneer Nels Johnson in 1880. A very small community of about eight or ten families was established and remained right up until the area was absorbed into the National Park in 1930. Today it is maintained as an historic district within the park.
