A Trip to Australia and New Zealand

Railway Station

On arrival at the station we had to walk under the tracks and back up to the street. I'm not sure why, but for me at least, this bricklined ramp is somehow essentialist English urban.

Walking in the Rain

We only had about a city block to go from the train station. Even though we did not have any rain gear with us the fact that it was really nothing more than extraordinarily heavy mist meant that we didn't get very wet before we reached the shelter of the hotel's front porch. Most of the locals that we saw in town on the way to our new abode did not seem to be paying any attention to the weather so we didn't either. (That's the good old Carrington Hotel behind the wall of mist below.)
