Waitangi & The Bay of Islands
In Waitangi, we tendered to shore. The Volendam lowered a number of their lifeboats and brought them alongside the ship where we boarded them for a fifteen minute ride to a small wharf on shore. The boat crews handled their craft expertly, the crew members that attended our boarding were helpful, polite and cheerful and the officers in charge at both ends of the trip answered a million questions thrown at them by hundreds of passengers, the most important of which was "when does the last boat leave shore?"
