Fillmore - County Seat

Fillmore, Utah, is located on Interstate Highway 15 in the Pavant Valley 148 mile south of Salt Lake City. It is the county seat for Millard County, Utah. From 1851 to 1856 Fillmore was the capital of the Utah Territory. Brigham Young determined the exact location in 1851 and assigned Anson Call to head the Mormon colonizing company that settled the town in 1852. In 1856 the territorial capital was moved from Fillmore to Salt Lake City.
