Cove Fort - Fort Wilden

Even before Cove Fort was built, Charles and Eleanor Wilden settled on Cove Creek. Charles had worked in the Cedar City Iron Mission. When it closed he established a small farm here. They built Fort Wilden in 1860, but had to abandon it in 1865. In 1867 the fort was used as part of the new telegraph system that was being installed and later it was incorporated into Cove Fort. Today this one cabin remains and is open as part of the Cove Fort exhibit.
