A Trip to Russia - St. Petersburg - Yusupov Palace - Spring

Czar Peter sent Grigory's son, Boris, to study in France and on his return to Russia he was appointed Governor General of Moscow. Boris's son, Nikolai, spent fifteen years studying and traveling in Europe and then returned to Russia to play a leading role in developing theater, porcelain and glass production, before being appointed to the State Council in 1823. As Coronation Marshal he presided over the coronation of three Russian monarchs. In 1830, Prince Boris Yusupov purchased the mansion in St. Petersburg that was to become the Yusupov Palace.
